Bashert

I just have to share something about this amazing couple. I adore (need an even stronger word here!) hearing stories unfold during portrait sessions. For these two, married forty years, they described how they met, and then how they met again four years later, this time leading to marriage. R. taught me the Yiddish word “bashert”: it’s meant to be. I couldn’t have orchestrated the timing after she shared this with me more perfectly:

Her: “I guess our love was meant to be.”

Him (very lovingly): “I guess.”

Kiss.

Moments like these are what life is all about…even if your moments happen when a camera has no film and an African zebra is giving birth in the wild. I know you don’t have the pictures, but your stories are priceless!
